Position Description: 

Aircraft Cargo Handling Supervisors play an important role in the safe operation of cargo flights. They oversee and ensure proper and safe movement of cargo on the aircraft and direct ground crew in the loading, unloading, securing, and staging of aircraft cargo.

Essential Duties: 

• Work closely with Cargo Agents and Crew Chiefs in coordinating Aloha Air Cargo activities on the ground in order to ensure the handling is done in a safe and punctual manner.
• Determine the quantity and orientation of cargo, compute aircraft center of gravity, and sign the load plan or manifest.
• Monitor the transfer, loading and unloading of cargo/baggage, and report status and follow up for any discrepancies and/or irregularities.
• Leadership and direction of the associates' work, focus on positive motivation to achieve productivity and efficiency of the operation.
• Weekly planning and scheduling of associates, adjusting shift numbers on demand
• Supervise daily operations and participate in long-range planning
• Coach and develop employees, including conducting performance appraisals, providing feedback, recognition/discipline as needed
• Operate and interface with IT and mechanical systems; troubleshoot system and mechanical issues as they arise.
• Liaise between management and ground operations staff to ensure clear and open communication is maintained and company goals and objectives and union policies are complied with.

Education and Experience: 

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor degree preferred
• Airport Operations related ground-handling experience in Airline industry or Ground Handling Company is required (such as Load Control/Weight & Balance, Flight Operations/Dispatch or Ramp Coordinator).
• Strong coordination skill with calm manner
• Able to work well under pressure
• Strong communication and supervisory skills
• Flight Operations/Load Control basic knowledge
• Experience in ramp operations/ramp flow coordination
• Basic Air Traffic Control knowledge
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle locally
• Able to work in inclement weather conditions
